Son of Mr. & Mrs. Luther Borden, Hiwassee Community and husband of Linda Mae McDaniel of Sweetwater. Grandmother Mrs. George Kirkland.
According to information received by family, Sgt. Borden was last seen in an ammunition storage area at a fire support base when an explosion occurred.
He attended Madisonville High School but completed his education after entering the service. He would have completed three years of army service in Nov. and killed on second tour of duty.
