J.R. Blair was the son of George David Blair and Margaret C. Blevins.
PFC Blair (USMCR) was killed in a car accident in China. While speeding along in a jeep he served to miss an oncoming vehicle, and lost control of his jeep which overturned, and he was thrown from jeep and rendered unconscious. He was buried in Grave 125, Plot B, American Legion Memorial Cemetery in Tienstsin, China on 13 February 1945. His mother requested his remains ret for burial in the National Cemetery Honolulu in Hawaii.
