Mrs. Alice Wright, 614 Forest Street was notified this morning that her son, Pvt. Hugh F. Wright, 18, was missing in Germany. Pvt. Wright who was inducted into the army in December, 1945, arrived in Germany less than a month ago, when he began serving with the Army of Occupation. The telegram bearing the news is given as follows: The Secretary of War has asked me to express his deep regret that your son, Pvt. Hugh E. Wright is missing in Germany, 21 April 46. If further detals or other information are received, you will be promptly notified. Confirming letter follows.

Pvt. Wright is a brother of Mr. Bill Wright of this city.

Mrs. Alice Wright has learned that her son, Hugh Wright, 18, who was reported several weeks ago as missing in Germany, was probably drowned. A letter from the War Department received here by Mrs. Wright stated that a boat, on which he was passenger, was seen to overturn on the Danube River. The letter, however did not give other information, other than he was still reported as missing.
