Howard Edward Long was born on 25 September 1921 to Andrew Cowan Long and Lizzie Horsely. He was the brother of Ruby Ellen Long. Pvt. Long enlisted on September 8, 1942, in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. He Died non Battle 16 June 1943 at Brooke General Hospital, Fort Sam Houston, Bexas County, Texas of Hemolytic reaction following a transfusion.
