Horace Marvin Maner was the son of Marvin Leo Maner and Mamie Eugenie Woods. He was married to Barbara Jean Dunn.

Corporal Maner was a member of the 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Company C. He was seriously injured in South Korea on July 25, 1950 and died of those injuries.

The body of Cpl. Horace M. Maner, killed in action in Korea July 25, 1950, will arrive here at 5:30 o’clock this afternoon for final services and burial. Cpl. Maner was a former student at East Lake Junior High and was a member of the Cloud Springs Baptist Church.
