The body of Staff Sgt. Hobson A. Pearson, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse B. Pearson, Ooltewah, Tenn., and member of the army air forces of Clovis, N.M., who was killed in a bomber crash Tuesday at Ballinger, Tenn., arrived in Chattanooga early this morning. Sgt. Pearson was graduated from the Ootewah High School in 1942. He had received the State Farmer degree in Future Farmers of America. At the time he enlisted in the army in September, 1942, he was employed at the Hamilton National Bank, Main Street Branch. He was graduated Dec. 8, 1942 from the army air forces gunnery school at Tyndall Field, Fla., and would have graduated yesterday from his third phase of bomber training at Clovis.
Surviving are his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah M. DeFriese of Chattanooga, Misses Mary V. and Eddie Irene Pearson of Ooltewah; two brothers, Sgt. J. Atlee Pearson of the U.S. Army and Jerry Bob Pearson of Ooltewah, and grandfather J.C. Ritchey.
