Mr. and Mrs. Dilmon Owens, parents of Pvt. Hobert Owens, ask us to publish the following: The largest crowd of friends and relatives ever attending a funeral in this community were present on Sunday, July 18, for the funeral of Pvt. Hobert Owens, who was killed France on August 11, 1944. We enjoyed the good singing and the prayer by Rev. W. S. Watsonand the sermons by Revs. L. M. Jeffers and A. J. Chamberes, and the flowers the friends gave. We also want to thank the American Legion for the nice military funeral.
