Hiram Carson Bloomer was born in 1923 in Duffield, Virginia. He was the son of Henry Bloomer and Nellie Vaughn.
He enlisted on 31 January 1943 at Fort Oglethorpe in Georgia. He was stationed at the army service forces depot at Ohio. He was killed when he walked into the side of a passenger train.
