Henry Thomas Clowers was the born in Knoxville, Tennessee, the son of Robert Willliam Clowers and Martha J. Maynor. He married Leoma Wallace in 1941 and father of Blanche Henrietta Clowers.
He was reported missing in action in 1943 and officially declared death on 1 May 1944. He is memorialized at the North Africa American Cemetery, Carthage, Tunisia
