Harry Lee Buis was the son of William Curtis Buis and Beulah Daisy Mink.

Private Harry L. Buis was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division. At the time of his death the 5th was involved in the battle for the fortified city of Metz.

Private Buis was killed in action on 15 September 1944 and is interred at B,16,47, Lorraine American Cemetery, St Avold, France.
