Gordon Bernard Lane was born in 1926 in Florida, the son of Ralph Samuel Lane and Anne Louise Harris.
Gordon Lane served on the U.S.S. Maryland. He died as a result of a plane crash at sea about 1200. His remains were not recovered. Memorialized at the Honolulu Memorial, HI

Word of the death of Seaman Gordon Bernard Lane, due to a plane crash somewhere in the Pacific on May 21 was received last night by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph S. Lane of 951 East 13th Street.
Lane, 17 on March 30, volunteered as an electrician in the navy last Summer with the consent of his parents. He received his education at East Side Junior High School and Vocational School. His father is employed at the Lucey Manufacturing Company in South Chattanooga. Notification of the death was by telegram signed Rear-Adm. Randall Jacobs.
