Staff Sergeant Glenn Edward Billingsley of Lake City was born on January 21, 1925. He was the son of James Claudeand Bessie Lee Brakebill Billingsley. He served in the European/Mediterranean theater of the war in the 84th Army Air Force Bomb Squadron. He died non Battle in Italy on November 28, 1944. He was buried in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery on November 28, 1948.

Word has received this week of the death in action of S/Sgt. Glen E. Billingsley, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Billingsley of Lake City. According to the War Department telegram, S/Sgt Billingsley was killed in a plane crash on Nov. 28. Young Billingsley was stationed in Italy with the 15th Air Corp. The father is at J.W. Jarnigan Co. In Lake City and is an Insurance representative.
