George Francis Nelson was born on 23 November 1915 at Mullinville, Kansas, the son of Francis Duard Nelson and Blanche Lucinda Elza. He married Verna Mae Carter on 9 November 1935.
He died 20 March 1945 on Luzon. He was the brother-in-law of Sgt. Melvin Marion Carter who also died on Luzon.
