Pfc. George Edward Orr was reported killed in line of duty when a B-29 Superfortress crashed on a training flight near Dallas, Texas. Pfc. Orr, 25, was the son of Mrs. L.C. Orr, 1125 West Mississippi Avenue, and husband of the former Mary Lou Carrick. A gunner on a B-29 bomber, in training at Pratt, Kan., Pfc. Orr was killed when the plane crashed yesterday on a training flight, according to a message received by his wife. He is survived by his wife, his mother, his grandfather, I.S. Post, and two brothers, S/Sgt Louis C. Orr, recently returned to the United States after a tour of duty overseas, and Martin P. Orr, with the air forces in Europe. He was a member of the Northside Presbyterian Church. The body will be brought to Chattanooga for burial, and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
