Lance Corporal George Edward Naylor was born on June 27, 1947, and was originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee. He served his country in the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps as a rifleman with K Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division. He began his tour in Vietnam on May 14, 1967. On December 1, 1967, LCpl. Naylor was fighting under hostile conditions in Quang Tri province, South Vietnam, when he was killed from heavy artillery fire. He was 20 years old at the time of his death. LCpl. Naylor was buried at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is memorialized on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Panel 31E, Line 21.
