General John Wilson was born in Fonde, Kentucky, the son of General John Wilson Sr. and Lenice Pearl Thomas.
Master Sergeant Wilson was a member of Company C, 65th Engineer Combat Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 27, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
