Private First Class G. B. Bunch was born on March 30, 1925, son of Otis Bunch and Verdie Massengill. Prior to joining the military, he worked as a farmer. He enlisted in the military on June 9, 1943 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He served in the 18th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division. He was killed in action on November 28, 1944 during the Hürtgen Forest Campaign and is buried in Knoxville National Cemetery (Section B, Site 6278, Row 32).

I believe he died in the basement of a building in Langerwehe, Germany. My father was with him when he died.
