T/Sgt Fred M. Paul, age 32 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Paul, died Dec. 12, 1944. Entering the Army in 1938 he was stationed at Pearl Harbor during the attack. Later was sent to Saipan, in the South Pacific. He was a member of the 804th Engineer Aviation Battalion. Military services by the American Legion will be held at La Follette at the Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fincastle Cemetery. T/Sgt Paul is survived by his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Davenport, Mrs. Ronald Cable, La Follette; five brothers, S-Sgt Roy Paul, Fort Bragg, N.C., Herbert, Baltimore, Md.; Edwin of Dayton, Ohio, Buddy and J.C. of La Follette.
