Fred Cotton was born on 27 August 1922 in Oneida, Tennessee. Son of Wayne Cotton and Armelda Keeton.
PFC Cotton, service number 34491797, had served in Italy with an infantry unit, where he was wounded in action . He returned to the US aboard the SS Paine Wingate in August 1945. He Died non Battle 23 September 1945 at Oneida, Scott County, Tennessee due to compound skull fracture caused by an auto accident.
