According to a telegram received this week by Glenn Boyd of Dalton, his brother, Staff Sgt. Frank L. Boyd, is listed as missing by the War Department. The young Dalton sergeant was lost while his squadron was on a bombing mission over Hanover, Germany, on July 26. Sgt. Boyd was a rear gunner on a Flying Fortress and had been on several raids over the European continent. He is the brother of Robert and Glenn Boyd of Dalton and John Boyd of Cleveland, Tenn., and is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Bagby and nephew of Miss Effie Bagby.
He entered service in September, 1942, and went to England in May of this year. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Boyd. He finished school at Martha Berry School near Rome.
