Edwin Eugene Overton was the son of Robert Franklin Overton and Lula Myrtle, Weston. His brother, Edward L. Overton was wounded in action in the Italian theater of war. Another brother Charles Campbell Overton served in the Navy somewhere in the Southwest Pacific.
He is memorialized at Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.
