Edward Louis Henderson was born 13 November 1925 to William Melzer Henderson and Louise Smoker Henderson. Brother of Edna Mae Henderson. He enlisted on January 19, 1944, in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. He perished on 25 December 1944 on the Belgium troopship SS Leopoldville when it was torpedoed and sunk by the U-486
