Edward Clyde Styke was born 19 January 1897 at Mohawk, Greene County, Tennessee to William M. and Amanda E. Styke. He entered the service on 5 September 1918 at Greeneville and trained at Camp Wadsworth in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He died 27 September 1918 at Camp Merritt in New Jersey of lobar pneumonia.
Cpl Styke is buried at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, Mohawk, Greene County, Tennessee.
