Earl Samuel Green was born on 22 July 1924, the son of Ross Leonard Green and Alice Webb.
Died non Battle 19 June 1945 at Iwo Jima. Before entering the service he was a truck driver for the L.A. Woods Barytes Mining Company near Sweetwater.

Pfc. Earl S. Green, whose next of kin is Ross Green, Route 1, Calhoun is among the remains of twelve Tennessee war dead that is being returned to the United States aboard the U.S. Army Transort Sergeant Morris E. Crain, it was learned by the Daily Post-Athenian today. The remains were taken aboard the vessel at Honolulu and are in addition to the 3,536 remains from Manila and Saipan announced earlier as aborad the “Crain”.
