Pfc. Earl F. Farmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce E. Farmer, Strawberry Plains, was killed in action in Germany March 24, the War Department has notified his family. Pfc. Farmer had been in Service a year and nine months, and overseas a year. He was 20 years old. He was in the “Cross of Lorraine” Division with the Seventh Army. Two of his brothers are also in the service, Pfc. Marion J. Farmer is with an anti-tank outfit in Belgium. Sgt. William E. Farmer is at home on emergency leave from Fort Benning, Ga. A fourth brother is John Farmer, 2209 McCalla Avenue, motorcycle officer on the Knoxville Police Force.
