Donald Clifford DeVault was born on 17 January 1921 at Bristol, Tennessee. Son of Karl Vernon DeVault and Lena Avis Shoun. Husband of Mary Eileen Wampler and father of Clifford Olen DeVault and Linda Ann Devault
He was serving with the 104th infantry “Timberwolf” division in Germany. Killed in Action 23 February 1945, France

Pfc. Donald C. DeVault, a former Bristolian, has been reported missing in action in Germany since February 23. His wife and two children live with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. K.V. DeVault, near Washington, D.C. Pfc. DeVault entered the service in June, 1944 and received training at Camp Blanding, Fla. Before going overseas in December. Prior to entering the service he was employed at the Naval Powder plant at Indian Head, Md. A brother, Howard O. DeVault, is serving as a petty officer on an LST in the Atlantic.
