PFC Denny Lee Washam born November 23, 1947, in Campbell County to Earl and Flossie (Wright) Washam. Denny was drafted in the Marine Corps and after training was sent to Vietnam. On December 8, 1968, he was killed in action, he was given the Bronze star for saving the lives of two other Marines before he was fatally wounded. Denny has five sisters, Wanda Williams, Ann Day. Helen Mcgee, Dean Phillips, Lois Bullock, and four brothers, Sonny Washam, Teddy Washam, Woody Washam, Bobby Washam.
