Delmon Clayton was initially buried at the USAF Cemetery Santa Barbara No. 1, Philippine Islands.

My father Ulys Arthur Beard served with Delmon and was present when the shelling of their location took place.

Sgt. Delmon Clayton, age 29, was killed in action while serving with the Field Artillery on Luzon, in the Philippines on April 20, 1945. He entered the service March 24, 1942, and had spent 13 months overseas. He was the son of Mrs. Bertha Clayton and the late Joe Clayton, of Section Rt. 2, and also lease many other relatives.
