David Stanley Renfro was born in Embreeville, Tennessee, the son of Luster “Luss” L. Renfro and Mary Mae Henley. Husband of Glenna Broyles.

He was initially buried at Andilly Cemetery at Lay St. Remy, France and reburied at Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France, C, 17, 46.

The War Department has notified Mrs. Glenna Broyles Renfro  her husband, Pfc. David S. Renfro, was killed in action in France, October 2. He previously had been reported missing in action since that date. Private Renfro, son of Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Renfro of Jonesboro, route 1, was inducted into the Army in November, 1942. And trained at Fort Hancock, N.J., Eatontown, N.J., Camp Pickett, Va., and Fort George G. Meade, Md. He went overseas last May. A brother, Cpl. Harold D. Renfro, is serving in Italy.
