David Edwin Rosser was born on 2 September 1921 in Oneida, Tennessee, the son of Edwin Jennings Rosser and Edna Madeline Smith.

He was initially buried at La Cambe Cemetery at Isigny, France and reburied at the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France, J, 25, 17

Lt. David E. Rosser, 23, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin J. Rosser, of Oak Ridge, died July 27 from wounds received in action in France, July 26, according to a communication which Mr. and Mrs. Rosser have received from the War Department. Lieut. Rosser was a native of Scott County and a graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Business Administration. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. At the time he entered the service, Lieutenant Rosser was employed in the Commerce Department of TVA. He left for overseas in March, 1944.
