Coster Peters was born on 6 August 1920 at Harveyton, Kentucky. S/Sgt Peters was the son of Zeno M. Peters and Margaret Fields. He died of wounds as a Prisoner of War in Germany on 20 November 1944. He is buried at Stiner Cemetery, Union County, Tennessee.

Staff Sgt. Caster Peters of the One Hundred Seventy-fifth Infantry, has been missing in action in Germany since Nov. 20, according to word received by his father, Zeno Peters of Sharps Chapel. Sgt. Peters was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in France July 18. He has been in service since November, 1942 and overseas six months.
