Private First Class Clyde Wilbert Brummett was born on May 29, 1923. He was the son of Boman Brummett and Sarah Galbraith Brummett. He enlisted in the military on January 8, 1943. He was killed in action on September 21, 1944 and is buried in Sunset Cemetery in Clinton.

Pfc. Clyde W. Brummett, age 21, was killed in action in France, Sept. 21, 1944. He served 21 months with the 35th Division; member of New Hope Baptist Church of Anderson County. Upon arrival, the body will be taken from Holly Funeral Home tot he home of his father, Bowman Brummett, Route 2, Clinton.
