Clyde Eli McDaniel was born on 28 March 1924, the son of Homer Stanley McDaniel and Daisy Allie Barrett.
He died 27 February 1945.
PFC McDaniel was initially buried at the Iwo Jima 3rd Marine Division Cemetery. Later buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, Y, 422.

Marine Pfc. McDaniel, previously wounded in action July 28, 1944, in the South Pacific area, was again wounded in the invasion on Feb. 25, Maj. F. Belton of Washington Marine Corps staff informed his mother. The report received did not disclose the extent of his injuries, it was stated. A former employe of the Chattanooga Glass Company, Pfc. McDaniel entered Marine service in September, 1942; received training at San Diego, Calif., and went overseas in January, 1943. He is a graduate of Lookout Junior High School. He is the brother of Homer McDaniel, employe of Millard’s Café, Chattanooga; John D. McDaniel, recently honorably discharged from naval service, now employed in a San Francisco shipyard, and Miss Josephine McDaniel of Chattanooga.
