Lawrence Cleo Cain (Cleo Cain) was born in Claiborne County, Tennessee December 14, 1918, the son of Leonidas Luther Cain and Artie Oris Taylor.
He died June 24, 1944 in France. He is buried in Beeler Cemetery, Speedwell, Claiborne County, Tennessee.

Pvt. Cleo Cain, of Speedwell, Tenn., son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Cain was killed in action in France, June 24, 1944. He had served in the Armed forces the past two years, the past six months overseas in England and France. He was 24 years old. Survivors: father, Luther Cain; mother, Mrs. Oris Cain, and a brother, Bill Cain, all of Speedwell. He lease also a host of friends and neighbors.
