SFC Reid was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He died at Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina of a gunshot wound of the chest and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia (52, 1430). He was the son of David Sherman Reid and China Walden and husband of Alice Goff.
Claude Reid served in Korea and Vietnam along with brother, Billy Reid.
