Clarence Foster Edmunds was the son of Hubert Lester Edmunds and Buella Mae Needham.

He served on the USS Snook (SS-279). Missing in action on 5 May 1945, changed to presumed date on 6 May 1945. He is memorialized at Manila American Cemetery.

Memorial services will be held for Seaman First Class Clarence Foster Edmunds at the Immanuel Baptist Church. Seaman Edmunds, the son of Mrs. Mae Edmunds, Candoro Road, entered the submarine service in May, 1943, was reported missing in the Pacific on May 14, 1945, and has now been officially declared dead by the Navy Department. He served on the U.S.S. Snook and received the submarine combat pin several months before being listed missing. He was a graduate of Young High School and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
