Clarence E. Williams was born 22 December 1921 to John Ellis Williams and Rose Miller. He was killed in action on Leyte in the Philippines on 31 October 1944.

PFC Williams  is buried at Brainerd United Methodist Church Cemetery next to his brother Norman E. Williams.

Funeral services for Pfc. Clarence E. Williams, killed on Leyte Oct. 31, 1944, will be held at the Avondale Baptist Church. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Williams; two sisters, Mrs. J.M. Jay and Miss Alta Rose Williams; a brother, L.C. Williams of Chattanooga. His other brother, the late Norman Williams, was killed in a plane crash at Pensacola, Fla.
