Vietnam Wall Panel 26W Line 033

Chet and I met several times at the girl’s dorm at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, while waiting for our dates. We engaged in casual conversation. Our dates — I married mine, I wonder if he married his? Lived on the same floor and thus knew each other. I heard of his passing in an alumni newsletter in 1969. He’s the only Vietnam casualty I ever knew. He seemed like a nice guy. I’m sorry we never double-dated. When I get to DC, I will put a flower at the wall for Chet. The war was a bit more real to me because of him. May he rest in peace.
