Charlie Wesly Crabtree was the son of Jessie Franklin Crabtree and Florida Jane Carpenter.

Private Charlie W. Crabtree was assigned to the 38th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. The division was involved in the battle for St. Lo on the Normandy peninsula.

Pvt Crabtree was Killed in Action on the 3rd of August 1944 and is interred at Normandy American Cemetery, J,15,3, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
