Funeral for Pfc. Charles R. Boone, whose body is expected to arrive in Johnson City, will be held at the New Victory Baptist Church, near Telford. A brother of Mrs. Wiley Bell of near Jonesboro, who survives him, Private Boone was killed in action October 21, 1944, on Leyte, Philippine Islands. He was a member of the 19th Infantry Division, having received his basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. Private Boone, who was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Washington College, also is survived by two brothers, Lee Boone of Erwin, and Wayne Boone of Jonesboro; two half-brothers, J.B. Furches of Johnson City and Robert Furches of Jonesboro.
