Charles Hatmaker was born in Campbell County, Tennessee, the son of Loyal Hatmaker and Ina Albright. He enlisted on March 21, 1944, in Camp Shelby, MS
He was retruned from Hochfelden, France. Buried in Knoxville National Cemetery on December 10, 1944, (section A, Site 5864)

Pvt. Charles Hatmaker, 19, was killed in action in France, Dec. 9, 1944. He was with the 399th Infantry Division, Seventh Army. He was a student of Park City High School. Survivors: parents, Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Hatmaker; brothers, Gilmer and O.D. Hatmaker; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. I.F. Albright of Fountain City. Interment in National Cemetery.
