Charles Boggess Davis was born 22 November 1915, the son of John Bruce Davis and Mary Marler.

PFC Davis was initially buried at St. Avold, Metz, France. He is buried at Chattanooga National Cemetery, Hamilton County, Tennessee, Section Y, site 663 together with Technician Fifth Class Alfred L. Jennings.

Killed in action was Pfc. Charles B. Davis, 29, son of J. Bruce Davis, 419 Oak Street.
Pfc. Davis, member of the 10th Armored Division, was listed killed in action Feb. 27 in Germany. Prior to entering the army in January 1944, with his brother, Pfc. Oscar L. Davis, he was associated with his brother in the operation of a restaurant in Decatur, Tenn. The brothers received training together at Fort Knox, Ky., and went overseas last September. Pfc. Oscar Davis was reported to have been in action with his brother when the latter was killed.
A former student at Meigs Couty High School, Pfc. Davis and his brother made their home with their aunt, Miss Artie Davis, in Decatur. Their mother died when they were children, it was stated.
