Bruce Starling Smallwood was born 25 May 1896, Cosby, Tennessee. He was a farmer before his induction into military service on 27 May 1918 at Camp Pike, Little Rock, Arkansas. He died of wounds received in action.
Pvt Smallwood is buried at Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery in France, Plot F, Row 7, Grave 29.
