Bruce Johnson was initially buried at La Cambe Cemetery at Isigny, France and reburied at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France, F, 11, 3.

He was killed in action on July 31, 1944. 

His younger brother, James C. Johnson, also served in WW2 and was imprisoned as a POW in Stalag 3B , which was liberated in 1945.
