Staff Sgt. Blair A. Talley, husband of Zula Graham Talley of route two, Talbott, was killed in Italy on Sept. 23rd, an official announcement says. Sgt. Talley had been in service for two years, and for the past eleven months had been overseas. He was serving with the 5th Army, in the 88th Division. Before entering the service, he was an employee of the TVA at Dandridge. Sgt. Talley had received the bronze star for service in Italy. In addition to his widow, the following survive: a daughter, Buddy Evyon Talley; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Basil Talley; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Calley, Jean and Margaret Talley; two brothers, Roger and Fayne, all of Jefferson county.
