S 2-c Billy Frank Purgason, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Purgason of Mosheim, Route 3, was killed as a result of injuries multiple extreme, on May 1, 1945, while in the service of his county. His remains were interred in an Allied cemetery on an island in the South Pacific. He was to have received his promotion to S 1-c on the day of his death. He had been attached to a company of Seebees for some time. Seaman Purgason is survived by his parents, one brother, Jack Purgason and Martha Lynn Purgason. He attended Mosheim High School.
