Billy Bruce Gass
Sergeant Gass was a member of the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in North Korea near Kunu-Ri Gauntlet on December 1, 1950, and died while a prisoner on March 31, 1951.

Cpl. Bill B. Gass, son of J. Paul Gass, a TVA foreman of 2301 West Clinch Avenue, is missing in action in Korea, his family has been notified. The 22-year-old former Central High School student has been reported missing since Dec. 1. Last word received here from him was a letter he wrote his fiancee, Miss Dorothy Frankenberg, 1711 East Glenwood Avenue, on Thanksgiving Day. He was serving with the 9th Regiment of the 2nd Infantry Division. He enlisted in the Army last May and has been in Korea since July. He had received the Purple Heart and two clusters.
