Bill Richie died at 0142 on board the U.S.S. Kaskaskia while on active duty as a member of the ship’s company by reason of intracranial injuries sustained in an accidental fall while in the line of duty on board the U.S.S. Kaskaskia about 1305, January 4, 1943.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sanford R. Ritchie; four brothers, Jack Jenkins, Eugene Jenkins, Charles Ritchie and Robert Ritchie, grandmother, Mrs. V.A. Ritchie.
