He died of injuries at the 35th Evacuation Hospital after an accident at Gallatin, Tennessee.

Pvt. Bethel Smith, 23, member of an engineer battalion, died Monday of injuries suffered Friday when he fell off a truck in the maneuver area, the Second Army public relations office announced. He was the son of Joe Smith, Jamestown, Tennessee.
