Bert or Burt Edgar Russell was born in Warren, North Carolina. He enlisted in Copperhill, Tennessee on 30 June 1917. Pfc Russell died of wounds received in action on 1 November 1918. He is buried at Dawson Cemetery near Blackwells, GA.
